The series kicks off with an overview of voting rights in America with a focus on legislation relating to people of color and women. Presenters included the Brockton Public Library's  Suffrage Centennial Humanities Scholar Willie Wilson and Brockton Democratic City Committee Member Steve Thomasy.

During this session, our panelists Katrina Huff-Larmond, Randolph Town Councilor, and Tony Branch, Chairman of the Brockton Diversity Commission discussed the threats to voting rights at the local and national level.

Our panelists, Patricia Comfort, Executive Director of LWVMA and Vedna Lacombe-Heywood, a LWVMA Board Member and an active member of the League of Women Voters - Plymouth Area discussed representation on both the federal and local levels. 

After election season comes to a close, it is important that we as a people stay civically engaged.  During this session, our panelists Rita Mendes (Brockton City Councilor at large), Tina Cardoso (Brockton City Councilor at large) discussed the various ways to hold elected officials accountable.
